How to meet everyone at once...

The main problem with our normal meet-ups is that they're localised, and so you tend to see a lot of the same people every time. UKMG regulars span every corner of the UK and several even further-flung places, so once upon a time, a plan was hatched.

The first National PU, organised with enviable efficiency by Andrew Sinclair and Julian May, took place in November 2001, at the Mabs Cross hotel in Wigan (which was calculated to be the most central point of the newsgroup's geographical spread). A year later, at the same venue, we did it again. Both events were so hugely successful, we decided to do it again...

As of 2005, we can no longer use the Mabs Cross for our National PU. However, help is at hand in the shape of the Lea Manor Hotel in Albrighton. Pay close attention to the map in that link, as there are two Albrightons in the West Midlands... this is the one midway between Telford and Wolverhampton, just off the M54 by RAF Cosford. If you end up near Shrewsbury, you've got the wrong Albrighton!

Once again, the Guitar Idol show will be forming a major part of the proceedings. If you want to play something, check out the song list or discuss ideas on the newsgroup.
