HarmonIX, the ninth UK filk con, was held, like Pentatonic, at the Rozel in Weston Super-Mare. Perhaps the video of us at Pentatonic coloured our perceptions, but there was a heck of a lot more room on stage than any of us who were there remembered. There was a lot of new stuff in the set compared to the previous year, and a lot of energy, starting off with 'Turn Back The Tide', with Tim and Lissa on two drum sets, which certainly woke everyone up, and things went pretty much up from there. Too many high spots to remember, really, although people seemed to enjoy Tom Smith's 'Superman's Sex Life Boogie' and the extremely dodgy (well, we did leave Anne and Annie to write it) 'Bang Today' (A Babylon 5 filk to 'Gimme Gimme Gimme' by ABBA). We weren't planning to do 'Black Powder and Alcohol' at all, but it sorta slipped in at the end, after the welcome return of 'Blue Suede Feet'. Oh, and Mike finally got to play his doubleneck on stage. Annie would like to thank the crowd for whooping after each and every song.
