I never really considered myself musical until I met Tim. And
Phoenix. There's no stopping me now. I discovered an ability to sing
rock and play various instruments. So far, the mad fools have let me
play most of the above instruments on stage. Nyah, hah hah! And the
next stop...
Wanna play rock harp! Wanna big harp NOW!!! <droolslobber>.
After careful consideration I have decided that the only thing better
than a musical instrument is lots of musical instruments. Now
I just have to learn to play them...
Oh yes, I nearly forgot. GREEN!!!!
What the rest of Phoenix thinks:
- Mike: We should perhaps note that there's a seventh member of Phoenix -
Annie and Tim's son Jared, who was definitely in the band (well, in
one of the band) for the set at Obliter8, and making his presence felt.
- Tim: My wife is now officially corrupt. When we met she had done a bit of
vocal training and some choral work and didn't consider herself particularly
musical. Little did she suspect that within 6 or 7 years I would have transformed
her into a raving musophile <g>. You won't hear me complain though as
I get more than a little latitude when I get near to a music shop checkout...Methinks
maybe this could backfire with Anne's current purrings for a new Clarsach
(harp) unless I can make a pre-emptive strike for a 12-string or an acoustic
bass guitar.
- Anne: I was doing alright as the lead female vocalist till Annie came along
with her gorgeous voice - I hate her, I hate her, I hate her! Except now
I get to fill in all those harmonies that I keep hearing. She also plays flute,
so flute duets here we come!
- Lissa: She has a beautiful voice, is learning drums faster than I did and
likes to wear waistcoats and baseball caps. PURPLE!
- Phil: (Isn't a musopihile someone who likes Muses?). Not so much raving
as barking, I'd say. I admire her flexibility though. Her ability to get both
feet into her mouth is truly amazing. But she does it in all innocence. So
she says. Don't know that we should believe her, though - I mean, no-one ever
believes me...
